Ranjit reappears in this episode, marking the first of many returns to the series. Ted and Robin have their second kiss, and Ted is now fully back into Robin as part of Phase Three. Ted notes that 2006 was a big year for him, and having seen the rest of Season 1 and Season 2, it certainly was. Ted's going to have some dramatic romances this year, and his career is going to undergo a dramatic change as well.
Review
Great episode, and I espescially enjoyed the music. You Give Love a Bad Name plays many many times, as part of Barney's Get Psyched mix. The mission to have a fun time on New Year's Eve is definitely relatable, as New Years is one of the most overhyped holidays. Marshall and Lily getting seperated provided this episode with some great drama, even though it wasn't a really dramatic event. Overall this episode was just a lot of fun. I love seeing Ranjit again, and Barney provided good comic relief while everyone else gave the episode some light hearted drama. I recomend watching this episode every New Years.
